Bishnupur, October 18 2024: An alert 6 year old girl saved her grandmother and infant brother from drowning by quickly shouting for help after they fell in a pond at Yumnam Khunou Mamang Leikai today.

As per a press release, Ahanthem Sanathoi (66), went to fetch water from the community pond for worship purposes with her grandson Lanthoiba on her back as her grand daughter Linthoinganbi (6) trailed closely behind her.

Unfortunately, Sanathoi slipped on the steps of the pond and fell in along with Lanthoiba.

Displaying her presence of mind, Linthoinganbi shouted for help and caught the attention of locals who rushed in to save the duo.

Currently, Sanathoi is undergoing medical treatment at Shija Hospital while Lanthoiba is safe and out of danger.
