District governor visits Rotary Clubs, presents vocational awards

Imphal, November 01 2026: District governor Dr Asim Kanti Adhikary of Rotary International District 3240 officially visited Rotary Club of Imphal and Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal jointly on October 31.Assistant governor Dr Minuara Begum also joined the visit.

As part of the programme, closed-door meetings were held with office bearers of both clubs separately to review activities for Rotary Year 2026-27.Later in the evening, the district governor along with the assistant governor attended the joint regular weekly meeting of both clubs at Classic Grande, Imphal.

During the meeting, vocational awards were distributed.

'Manipadma', the monthly bulletin of RC Imphal, and 'Polo News' of RC Polo City Imphal were released by the district governor.

Wheelchairs and teachers awards sponsored by RC Polo City Imphal were handed over to JNIMS, Imphal and other beneficiaries.

Teachers were also honoured with Gyan Jyoti Awards.

RC Imphal handed over various awards to beneficiaries.

The Senator Okram Memorial Rotary Footballer of the Year award sponsored by Okram Sonamani was given to Laishom Subason Singh of Heigrujam Mamang Leikai, Nambol, Bishnupur district.

The Th Leihaotombi Devi Memorial Artisan of the Year Award sponsored by Dr Th Sudhiranjan and Dr N Anita Devi was conferred on Takhellambam Rani Devi of Kakching Khunou.

The Chongtham Ongbi Kalabati Devi Memorial Rotary Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award sponsored by Punshiba Chongtham was given to Wangjam Jacky Singh of Mayang Imphal for FATAFAT Imphal Online Delivery Service.

Senior citizens Prof Ngairangbam Bijoy Singh, ex-MLA Khurai AC, and Gyanchand Patni of Paona Bazar were also honoured.

The district governor praised both clubs for community-based projects and stressed strengthening Rotary movement through continued contribution to The Rotary Foundation.

The visit also included ceremonial cake cutting as part of the 54th Club Foundation Day.
