RIMS refutes allegations

Imphal, August 31 2024: The authority of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal has strongly condemned and refuted the allegations made by one Rajkumar Somorjit Singh against Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS Imphal as unfounded and baseless.

In a release, the authority of RIMS, Imphal, stated that Rajkumar Somorjit Singh, s/o (late) RK Ranbir Singh, former Chief Minister of Manipur and resident of Keishamthong Longjam Leirak has falsely represented himself as the Vice President and spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh.

"Rajkumar Somorjit Singh has made unfounded allegations against Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma, accusing him of corruption and of supporting the Congress party through donations in the 18th Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year", it added.

The RIMS authority continued that these allegations were made in letters addressed to Dr JP Nadda and Union Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya using the BJP Manipur Pradesh official letterhead.

The RIMS authority also pointed out that A Sharda Devi, president of BJP Manipur Pradesh has already clarified that Rajkumar Somorjit Singh is not associated with BJP Manipur Pradesh in the capacities he claimed.

Further, stating that these allegations are baseless and are an attempt to tarnish the image of Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma, the RIMS authority cautioned that if Rajkumar Somorjit continue to make such false allegations, legal action will be pursued to protect the reputation of Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma and the integrity of RIMS, Imphal.
