Woman injured in scuffle with police

At least one woman was injured when a group of women who were holding a protest demonstration inside the DC complex were stopped by the police personnel on duty at about 2 pm on Monday.
The injured woman has been identified as the President of Rasankhul Women Society Ng Roning (40) .
She sustained injury in a scuffle with the women police personnel.
She has been admitted to the District Hospital and was discharged later after medical aid.
Talking to this Correspondent, Thabanrei, a resident of Rasankhul village said that voters of Rasankhul, Laarphuw and Mitong villages who were supposed to cast votes at 11/7-Mitong P/s under 11-Pantha DCC during the repoll held on June 6 were not able to exercise their franchise because of threat and harassment meted out to them allegedly by NPF workers.
After the failure to reach an understanding between the women representatives and the RO, the group of women who were protesting outside of the DC complex holding placards from morning forcibly got through the main gate of the DC complex.
The scuffle continued for some time.
However, the situation was brought under control by the police.
