Mangboilal's body claimed, KRA clarifies

Kangpokpi, June 06 2021:
Following a four-point agreement reached between the Assam Rifles authority, state police authority and civil society organisations of Kangpokpi, the body of Mangboilal Lhouvum, who was allegedly shot dead by Major Alok Sathe, was claimed on Sunday.
After the post mortem conducted at RIMS Hospital Imphal, family members and Kangpokpi CSOs took the body for performing his last rites at his village Chalwa.
A simple farewell programme was conducted at Nute Kailhang in Kangpokpi DHQs under the aegis of Kangpokpi Town Committee, KWWO and KYU.
Haolet Khongsai, president of KYU, led the farewell programme while Rev K Hangshing, chairman Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship offered a farewell prayer for peaceful burial.
Later, the body was taken to his village by TSA Sadar Hills in KSO Saikul ambulance accompanied by families and various CSOs leaders.
In connection with the death of Mangboilal, an FIR was lodged at Kangpokpi Police Station by Sehlam Lhouvum, father of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), an entity of Kuki National Organisation (KNO), clarified that Mangboilal Lhouvum was not the new finance secretary of the organisation as alleged in some local TV channels and social media by few vested organisations and individuals.
The outfit said that such baseless allegation was made only to tarnish the image of the organisation and its sincerity in adhering with the ground rules of the Suspension of Operation (SoO).
It continued that since the signing of SoO with government, KRA is committed to adhering to the SoO ground rules and peace and harmony in its operational area, adding that extortion, kidnapping, illegal taxes, etc., have been strictly prohibited and stopped in the operational areas of KRA.
KRA further said that the deceased Mangboilal was not related to the organisation.
The allegation that an innocent civilian was the new finance secretary in-charge of IT Road is baseless and unfounded, it added.
KRA then warned that anyone indulging in such false allegation and circulating it on social media will be dealt with befittingly by the organisation and advised all concerned against repeating such baseless allegation in future.
