Annual ritual prayer held at Wangoi for peace in Manipur

Imphal, October 22 2026: Laiyingthou Malem Anganba Sanamahi Thougal Lup, Wangoi organised its annual ritual prayer at Chingu Khoiyum Sidaba Apanba Keirunghanba Keirunghanbi and Chingu Khoiyum Sidaba Sidabi Liklai Ponjenba Imoinu Ahong-Achaobi shrine at Wangoi.

Speaking in connection with the programme, secretary of the Lup Thokchom Saratchandra said the ritual has been observed every year on the 11th day of Mera month at the sacred place of Wangoi.

He said the main objective of observing the ritual is to pray to Chingu Sidaba Sidabi for forgiveness and to restore harmony among different communities who have been facing hardships and living in enmity, and to punish those who commit wrongs.

He further prayed that the land of 'Kangleipak' be blessed with bountiful harvest and become a more developed and prosperous land by discarding ill thoughts.
