Tamenglong, October 06, 2009: The two youths hailing from Namkaoluang (Keikao) village is able to invented new local organic manure with insect repellant and that has no side effect for users.

Namkaoluang village is under Tamenglong police station, some 28 kilometres from Tamenglong district headquarter touching with Tamenglong to Khongsang road.

The two youths are also identifying as Ningthanpou Kamei (28), son of Lanbamang Kamei and Chingkhiuthuan Kamei (30), son of late Habuiyang Kamei both are hailing from same village.

While talking to media person, the youths said that after they trained the Japan farmers' technology from Mizoram state through one prominent NGO-Don Bosco Social Welfare Tamenglong they had started manufacturing new local organic manure with insect repellent called wood vinegar from burning woods since 2002. "We have tried and tested for horticulture and agricultures crops and even for vegetables, it helped the crops in healthy, remove the disease, repellents the insects and also gives quality productions.

There was no side effect for users, now it is a great success", they said.

However, they were upset as they could not manufacture in huge quantity and met the public demands.

The main factors for less quantity may be bad infrastructures lack of proper storage facilities.

"We are able to produce atlest five litres per day, it also depends on whether", they said.

Apart from giving manure and repellent the insects from the crops and continuous use of this vinegar will bring back the natural normal top soil which is spoil by the chemical manures.

This newly invented localorganic manure did not have any expiry date, it can be kept long time used again but if water mixed it should be used within a month, they said.

Though this organic manure is made only for crops but some people also used for treating a skin disease like scabies and wring worm infection, they said.

"However we not recommended for any human disease treatment, practically it is good for all kinds of crops", they said.

One regular consumer name as Taking Gonmei (65), son of Lt Meikeibuanang said that he had used five years continuously, it is good for all kinds of crops and it has no any side effect.

"I have used for vegetables like chilly and brinjal, lemon, orange plants lemon and paddy too.

It helped the crops to grow faster, healthier, insect repellants and give quality fruits and there was no side effect", Taking said.

Regarding the paddy he said, while using this manure in young stage it helped the paddy and weeds to grow faster and using during the premature it prevent chaffy.

While for brinjal and chilly it helped the crops to stretch more branches give healthy plants and fruits.

"Though I had used the newly invented local organic manure for five years I did not have any health problem" the elderly man said.

While using this new local organic manure in crops there was no insect attacked the crops, he added.

Now the new local organic manure is available at their village and even at district headquarters.
