FoH joins hand with Shangpu Long

Imphal, April 24 2022: The Federation of Haomee (FoH) and Shangpu Long have decided to work in solidarity for a common cause.

The resolution was taken during a meeting held on Saturday at Chakama village under the theme, "Know your identity" .

The meeting was attended by T Ningchui Chitlung, chairman Shangpu Long; Sapamcha Jadumani, president FoH; S Ningthar, khullakpa Chakama and Dr Heera Kabui, vice president FoH as presidium members, said a release issued by Federation of Haomee.

It may be mentioned that Shangpu Long is the joint body of 11 Tangkul villages of Kamjong district namely Nungthar, Maryland, Ringpam, Kharam, Horton, Tangkhul Khullen, Somiriphei, Somrei, Somcharan, Chakama and Komlaching.

The meeting resolved to protect the indigenous rights of the people and Tangkul communities of the area to assist in the same.

It was also decided to urge the Government to look into the increasing influx of outsiders without proper documentation and to implement ILPS in the hills.
