Citizens Club observes 68th foundation day

Imphal, September 16 2026: The 68th Foundation Day of Citizens Club, Wangkhei Khunou Soibam Leikai, was observed today at the club premises.

Due to the prevailing situation in the State, the function was observed in a simple manner with floral tributes to the departed members of the club and hoisting of the club flag.

Speaking on the occasion, Club president Naorem Mahendra said Citizens Club was named to provide a common platform for people of different communities settling in the area.

He said the club has been taking part in various issues faced by the State since its establishment.

He also demanded early implementation of NRC updation and census, with 1951 as the base year for NRC, as demanded by JFD and the people.
