Youth Leadership Development Programme concludes at MU

The 4-days Youth leadership Development Programme on "Peace building and conflict transformation" jointly organised by Taragi Cheisu and Youth for Peace International (YPI), New Delhi concluded today at the Open Air Theatre of Manipur University, Canchipur.
The valedictory function was graced by Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC), former Acting Chairperson, Khaidem Mani; retired IAS officer, RK Nimai; MIMS, Director, Prof Ch Ibohal and Taragi Cheisu vice chairman.

Speaking on the occasion, Khaidem Mani said that it is high time for the Government to form a State level Peace and Reconciliation Commission' to end the prolonged conflict.
He also recalled that in his tenure as the Acting Chairperson, the MHRC had recommended the State Government to form a 'Peace and Reconciliation Committee' to find a long lasting solution and bring back peace & normalcy in the State.
He expressed his disappointment over the failure of the State Government to take strong action against the Narco Terrorists who are threatening the integrity & territorial boundary of Manipur.
Khaidem Mani further urged the State & Central Government to consider the plight of the people and take immediate action to end the conflict & restore normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.
During the event, certificates & mementos were distributed to the participants of the 4-days leadership development programme.
