Imphal, December 30 2014:
The year 2014 has witnessed an increase in crimes of sexual violence against women and children in Manipur which has drawn widespread resentment, said State CPI council secretary Dr M Nara on Tuesday.
Addressing media at the party office, Dr Nara also said the people felt the complete absence of a Government in the State, adding liberalisation and privatisation in India have had serious impact on children's education in the country.
He said this year has shown serious upshot of drug abuse and drug trafficking in the State.
Dr Nara said, "We should overthrow political organisations which are based on religious grounds when 2014 rings out and 2015 rings in." The CPI leader appealed to people to elect Governments without succumbing to the lure of money power during elections.
