An 18-day National integration tour cum educational excursion from Churachandpur to Pune and Mumbai organised by 7 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) was flagged in on December 20 .
The tour was flagged off on December 3 .
19 girls, five boys and two teachers hailing from different villages of the district took part in the tour.
The aim of the tour was to expose the children belonging to far-flung and remote villages of Churachandpur district to the National mainstream, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
This was a unique opportunity for these children to witness the development taking place in various parts of the country and to explore the diverse cultural heritage of India.
The tour provided an opportunity for the students to visit cultural landmarks like Gateway of India, NDA Pune, SIMs, Raja Kelkar Museum, Shaniwar Wada, Amanora Mall, Singhgarth Fort, Snake Park, Tribal Museum, Naval Dockyard, Nehru Science Centre, Planetarium and Film city.
