ATSUM cheers noble intention of N Biren led State Government

ATSUM has lauded the BJP State Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh .
ATSUM Education Secretary, Kakai Singsit said that the present Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh has done things which were almost impossible past Government .
He continued that CM Biren's Government's 'Go to Hills' slogan has been welcomed with open arms by the people of the hills though the past CM was opposed by the same people .
He urged the BJP Government to translate into action the pending understanding with regards to the charter of demands submitted at the earliest.
He said that one of the important demands of ATSUM regarding the shortage of doctors, nurses and other paramedics should be given priority and the absence of infrastructures, staff quarters, equipment and the need to open more health centre for easy accessibility should be urgently addressed .
Pertaining to the 2006 contract teacher's batch, Kakai Singsit said that even if there is no concrete agreement on the issue and the issue is being kept for future talks, it was agreed that steps will be taken up to address the situation and the vacant post are filled-up.
In connection with the absence of MIL subjects for the recognized tribes of Manipur, the Education Secretary ATSUM said that it was brought up in the September 27 meeting and further deliberated on the November 12 meeting in the presence of the Education Minister where the Government agreed to go ahead with immediate recruitment of teachers for the said posts while the technicalities involving would be chalked out later .
He also said that regarding the perpetual violation of the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Amendment Act, 2012, ATSUM asked for intervention of the Government so that the Parliament Act and the High Court order is respected by the MU authority and it was mutually agreed that the Higher Education Department would organize a meeting with MU authority to resolve the matter .
ATSUM Education Secretary further said that regarding the upgradation of IGNTU into a full-fledged university the Government has assured it will submit a proposal to the UGC and HRD Ministry .
He also pointed out that ATSUM furnished a copy of representation it had submitted to the Union HRD Minister, Prakash Javedkar during his visited to the State on June 21, to the State Government.
