Altogether 737 Manipuri people coming from Mumbai in a special Shramik train reached Jiribam by bus last night, reports our correspondent.
The train was supposed to bring its passengers to Jiribam but it halted at Guwahati as the railway track was uprooted in between Lumding and Badarpur railway station, Assam.
After getting down from the train Guwahati Railway Station, all the 737 (265 males, 452 females and 20 children) passengers were brought to Jiribam by around 42 buses arranged by the Government of Assam.
The buses started arriving at Jiribam at around 7.42 pm yesterday.
The returnees were taken to their respective district headquarters by buses arranged by the State Government this morning.
The buses which came from Guwahati went back soon after dropping the passengers.
