Mishap claims two women

Imphal, September 16 2026: A woman and her daughter-in-law were killed in a tragic accident that took place at Kha Naorem Leikai, Imphal West under Singjamei police station along NH-102 early this morning.

Kharibam Bino (75) w/o Kh Ibocha and her daughter-in-law Kharibam Sophia (33) w/o Premjit were returning from a morning walk when they were rammed by a speeding car from behind.

As they were rammed from behind by the speeding car (Maruti 800) which was travelling from South to North, the two women sustained critical injuries.

Bino was declared dead on reaching a hospital while Sophia succumbed to the injuries at the hospital.

While the two dead bodies have been deposited at RIMS mortuary, a case has been registered at Singjamei police station in connection with the incident.
