Imphal, May 14 2021:
Raj Medicity, North AOC Imphal has suspended admission of Covid and non-Covid patients due to lack of medical oxygen.
An order to this effect was issued by the hospital's Medical Superintendent in-charge, Dr Ng Narendra Singh today.
"In view of the current situation of increase of COVID-19 positive cases and due to lack of medical oxygen, all Consultants and RMOs are hereby informed that admission of both Non-Covid and Covid patients shall remain suspended with immediate effect until further notice," said the order.
However, Casualty and Emergency services (first aid) would be provided, it added.
The order of the hospital came amid the claim of the Government that there was no shortage of medical oxygen in the State.
Earlier, the Government had issued orders to augment and ensure free flow of medical oxygen in the State.
Two medical oxygen plants are reportedly being installed at Churachandpur District Hospital and Thoubal.
