Loktak Homestays and Hospitality Services conferred Silver Category Award by ICRT

Loktak Homestays and Hospitality Services has been awarded the prestigious Silver Category in Nature Positive Tourism by the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT) India Foundation and Incredible India.
The award ceremony took place today at the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi.
The award was presented to the emerging sustainable homestay host, Khwairakpam Nirmala Devi, founder and Khwairakpam Budha Singh co-founder by Satpal Maharaj, Minister of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand, Mugdha Sinha (IAS), Director General (Tourism) Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Dr Harold Goodwin, Founder Director of ICRT.
Notably, Loktak Homestays and Hospitality Services is located at Ithing Sendra Chingkhong, Thanga Part II in Bishnupur district.
This recognition celebrates the homestay's role as a guardian of biodiversity at Loktak Lake, highlighting its commitment to a regenerative approach in its operations.
Khwairakpam Nirmala Devi has been a driving force in eco-conscious tourism in North East India.
She was recently among 30 women homestay owners in the region trained by NITI Aayog and Project Maitri by MakeMyTrip.
Her efforts in promoting sustainable tourism were further recognized in 2023 when she won the Best Rural Tourism Destination Award from the Himalayan Hospitality and Tourism Development Network, West Bengal, and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India Eastern Regional.
