Opposition supports Trinamool Congress

Opposition parties of the state will be supporting Konthoujam Sarat who will be contesting the by election of the Konthoujam A/C on a Trinamool Congress ticket.
Ex MP Kim Gangte, president Trinamool Congress met BJP state unit president Santikumar and requested for support in the forthcoming by election which will be held on February 14. Giving a nod to the request of Kim Gangte, Santikumar assured her of support to Sarat in the by election and that discussions are on for other opposition parties to support Sarat.
He suggested Kim Gangte to meet party presidents of the other opposition parties and to request support from them too.
Kim Gangte also met MPP president, Nimaichand Luwang.
Both parties will be holding their party meetings to bring a resolution to support Sarat in the by election.
On the other hand, CPI, a partner of the Congress in the SPF government is considering to field a candidate in the by election.Meanwhile, Dr Sapam Ranjan son of late Sapam Budhichandra has intensified his electioneering in the constituency.
It is generally assumed that Dr Sapam Ranjan and Konthoujam Sarat will be the top rivals in the by election.
