Interaction programme on IPR conducted

An Interaction Programme on "Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)" was successfully conducted today at the Court Hall, Manipur University, Canchipur.
The event was organised with the aim to raise awareness about IPR, patents, copyrights & trademarks, and foster a deeper understanding among faculty members and research scholars of the university.
It was attended by Prof N Lokendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University; Prof W Chandbabu Singh, Registrar, Manipur University; Prof A Rajmani Singha, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Manipur University and Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei.

Prof (Dr) Unnat P Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks (CGPDTM), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India also attended the programme as the speaker.
The welcome address was delivered by Prof W Chandbabu and the keynote address was given by Prof N Lokendra.
Prof Unnat P Pandit gave a comprehensive overview of IPR, including patents, designs, and trademarks.
He discussed the importance of intellectual property in research and innovation, encouraging scholars to actively protect their intellectual assets.
The session was highly interactive, with a Q&A segment where participants raised questions about patents and trademark processes, challenges in IP protection, and the role of IP in academic and industrial collaborations.
Dr Pandit also addressed the queries, providing practical insights and guidance.
Prof Ch Ibohal emphasized the significance of research-driven innovation and how intellectual property could play a transformative role in academic institutions.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof A Rajmani Singha.
Approximately 130 faculty members and research scholars from various departments of the university actively participated in the programme.
