BJP to donate blood to 170 individuals

Imphal, September 16 2026: BJP Manipur Pradesh has announced that it will donate blood to 170 individuals as part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, scheduled to be held from September 17 to October 17 .

The month-long outreach programme will mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17 and the completion of 25 years of his public service, beginning with his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Addressing the media at Thambal Shanglen at Nityaipat Chuthek today, BJP Manipur general secretary K Saratkumar said a blood donation camp would be organised at seven hospitals on the opening day of the programme tomorrow.

He appealed to the people to light a candle at the gates of their respective residences tomorrow to honour the Prime Minister for his 25 years of public service, particularly his initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic and the introduction of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the flagship health insurance scheme providing coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year.

Saratkumar also said that a programme christened 'Aangan Ka Milan' will also be held to honour 11,581 Anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHA workers.

He further stated that the Go to Village and Go to Hills programmes would be organised in all Assembly Constituencies during the observance to address the grievances of the people.

Moreover, Saratkumar said that a drawing competition based on the theme of Viksit Bharat would be organised in all schools.

Saying that initiatives would also be taken to highlight the achievements of the BJP, he appealed to the people to participate in the programme.
