Many continue to extend humanitarian aid

In continuation of its humanitarian efforts, the United We Stand, Meitei Eikhoi Punsinsi (MEIPUN), Whatsapp Group today provided a monetary aid of Rs 6000 to help the medical treatment of Nepram Iboyaima (65) .
Nepram Iboyaima is currently admitted at Chest Medicine Ward, RIMS Hospital.

The assistance was provided by a team of MEIPUN comprised of Keke Wahengbam, Pangambam Rajendro, Roji Brahmacharimayum, Joymati Irom, Suresh Khangembam, Prem Nongthombam, Leo Nameirakpam and Basanta Khuraijam.
Similarly, MEIPUN also provided a monetary aid of Rs 7000 to Lourembam Basanta (53) of Nambol Lourembam Maning Leikai, who was struck by lightning on May 5, 2024 .
The assistance was provided by a team of MEIPUN led by advisors Keke Wahengbam and Pangambam Rajendro on May 7 .
Speaking on the occasion, Keke Wahengbam said that in one of the most extreme weather conditions the State has ever witnessed, violent hailstorm and thunderstorm swept across the State on Sunday leaving a trail of destruction.
He asserted that amidst the violent thunderstorm, Lourembam Basanta sustained grievous injuries as he was struck by lightning when he was working in a paddy field.
He also shared that Lourembam Basanta is currently undergoing treatment at Asian Hospital, Kwakeithel.
Keke Wahengbam further appealed to the Government and authorities concerned to take immediate steps to ensure that all affected families receive the support they need to rebuild and recover.
Moreover, the Sheirengbasingi Apunba Lup (SHAL) has also provided a monetary aid of Rs 10,000 to renowned singer Usham Nirjitkumar of Yairipok Keithel, who has been bedridden due to an illness.
The assistance was provided by a team of SHAL comprised on its secretary Jiban Moirangthem, treasurer Keisham Priyokumar, organising secretary Dr Thingbaijam Swarankumar, Waikhom Bihari, Sukumar Loitongbam and Homendro Irengbam.
Notably, Usham Nirjitkumar is an approved singer of All India Radio Imphal.
He is also a member of Apunba Manipuri Matam Eshei Kanglup (AMMIK) and former joint secretary of Film Forum Manipur.
