Mary Kom-Sai Boxing Academy gets new infrastructure

Imphal, March 16 2018:
Gymnasium and Outdoor Boxing Hall of Mary Kom-SAI Boxing Academy, National Games, Village Langol was formally dedicated today by Rev M Manglosong Kom, Pastor of KR Fellowship Church, Games Village.
The sports infrastructure was constructed under the funding of National Sports Development Fund (2013) and the site for construction was allotted by Government of Manipur in the year 2013 during the tenure of O Ibobi Singh as the Chief Minister.
The facilities are being benefited by 101 boxers, out of which 85 are in hostel, availing free training, fooding, lodging and other expenses involved in their academic, medical, nutrition and competitions.
The dedication programme was attended by Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia, Director General (NE Zone) Ministry of Information & Broadcasting; Brig SK Sharma, DIG CRPF, Imphal Range; Seiminthang Lenthang, Under Secretary (YAS) Asst Commissioner (DE); Ranbir Thouna, singer & musician and Rev Solomon Leivon, executive secretary, KRBCA.
Soon after attending the public gathering at Luwangshangbam, MP Rajya Sabha MC Mary Kom who is also the founder of the Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation joined the programme.
