Bishnupur, October 18 2024: Flying shuttle looms, sewing machines, GI sheets and piglets were distributed to selected beneficiaries under the supervision of Thongam Shanti, MLA, Moirang Assembly Constituency at the MLA's Office located at Moirang Philem Leikai.

During the ceremony today, flying shuttle looms were distributed to seven individuals, sewing machines to eleven persons and two groups of IDPs at Khoyol Keithel Relief Camp, one bundle of GI sheets to Turenbal Leikai Meira Paibi and a total of 10 piglets to Farmers' Association Terakhongshangbi.

Speaking on the occasion, Thongam Shanti said that the distribution event was held with the goal of providing a means of livelihood and improving the economic condition of folks who have been greatly affected by the ongoing Manipur crisis.

The Moirang MLA also made an appeal to the gathering to avail the benefits provided by Governmental schemes to gain financial freedom.

He urged people to make proper use of funds sanctioned by the Government as well as materials distributed by MLAs and Ministers for public welfare.

The distribution event was graced by Y Modhu Singh, Chief Advisor MLA Moirang AC; S Kumar Singh, Chairman, Election Affairs, NPP Moirang Block and intending candidates of the upcoming MMC election.
