Kangpokpi, August 13 2019: A 'star and marvellous' pop singer of the Kukis, Janglal Khongsai, whose absorbing voice has touched hearts of music lovers, has serious health issue and is currently under treatment seeking aid from Government.

Father of six children, the famous pop singer from Misao Lhahvom village in Churachandpur district stepped into the music profession in 2000.Born to a poor family, the 41 year old struggled hard to earn fame and popularity in music industry especially among the Kuki community with no wealth as music is yet to be recognized as a profession which earns in the Kuki society.

It was his attitude that considers music as his life, he could move ahead with the profession despite of all the hurdles from family, society and the music industry itself.

Among many of his popular hits, Thimpi jing hen Twipi len jong le and Ka Thinglhang gam still rule over thousands heart particularly among the Kuki community.

He has sung songs in many other languages apart from Thadou language and some of the songs are even featured in some Thadou-Kuki movies.

His wife - Hechin Khongsai said that 2/3 years back a small lump on her husband's right neck (below his jaw) was noticed.

The lump started to swell and he was admitted in a hospital at Imphal in March this year for treatment, she said.

"Doctors suggested operation which we could not afford.

We eventually came to know about treatment of such kind at Rikhumai Taphou, a private home clinic and admitted him," she said.

"It is five months now that we are staying at Rikhumai Taphou.

We are facing financial problem and I am worried that we cen no longer afford the treatment," said Hechin.

"All I want is his recovery so that he can serve the community with his gifted voice once again," she said appealing all well wishers, fans and State Government to extend all possible assistance.

Meanwhile, many fans of Janglal Khongsai in social media especially Janglal Khongsai Fans WhatsApp Group wished the pop singer speedy recovery and assured to keep him in their prayers and assist.

Many philanthropic organizations among the Kuki community including KKL are coming forward to the help the pop singer.

Fans and organisations also appealed the Government to assist the ailing singer.
