Chd/Thb, October 08 2021: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Pan-India awareness and outreach campaign, District Legal Services Authority Thoubal on Friday organised an online legal awareness programme/webinar on "Legal rights of women and Children" through the Jitsi Meet platform.

The programme began with a welcome address by Ksh Sarankumari Devi, Remand Lawyer while A Shanta Devi, Secretary (i/c), DLSA, Thoubal gave the keynote address.

A Mina Devi, Coordinator, Legal Aid Clinic, Sugnu presented the Vote of thanks.

Speaking on the occasion as the resource person, Kh Lembisana Meidingu elaborated the different rights of women and children as laid out in the Indian Constitution; Juvenile Justice Act and different other acts related to it.

The event was participated by PLVs and locals as nominated by the Legal Aid Clinics within Thoubal & Kakching District.

Similarly, DLSA Chandel under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority on Wednesday also organised an online legal awareness programme for Chandel & Tengnoupal districts on the topic "Understanding Free Legal Aid and Services" .

The programme was attended by Lamkholal Kipgen, secretary DLSA Chandel, staff of District Administration, police, PLVs, panel lawyers, NGOs and students.
