Dolaithabi project gets yet a new date for completion

Imphal, May 08 2009: The Manipur IFCD Minister, N Biren today said that the Dolaithabi project, which will enable farmers a double-cropping system to 75000 hectares area of farming land will be completed by March next year.

Speaking during the inspection tour today at the Dolaithabi project, Minister N Biren said that though the project has been started since twenty years back, most of the works have been not initiated.

Works have been accelerated since only in 2006-07 when the SPF government came to power in the state, N Biren said while assuring that the project will be completed before the start of the next financial year.

He said 30 percent of the works has been completed now.

He further said that the construction work has not been progressing due to unsystematic execution of work and added the works has been executed in order since when the SPF government took the charge of it.

The Minister was accompanied today by the Additional Chief Engineer of IFCD, Kh Indramani, Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeshore and officials of the IFC Department.
