Imphal, October 01 2022: The valedictory function of the State Handloom Expo organised by the Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisans' CS Ltd (AWAS) under the aegis of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles was held today at Urban Haat, Nilakuthi.

The function was attended by Padmashree (Handloom) L Subadani; AWAS president, A Ronika; Handloom and Textiles Joint Director, E Jeeten; Weavers' Service Centre Deputy Director, HK Baro; District Handloom and Textiles Imphal East, Project Manager, Th Ibemcha; National Handloom Development Corporation Ltd, Imphal, Officer in-charge (Marketing), Y Shantikumar and Former BoD of All India Handloom FMCS Ltd, New Delhi, Md Wahidur Rahman as the presidium members.

Speaking at the occasion, L Subadani appealed to all the handloom weavers to avail the benefits of the various welfare schemes launched by the Government thereby promoting new ideas and designs.

She also appealed to all to work sincerely for the promotion of handloom products thereby contributing in enhancing the economic status of the State.
