International Yoga Day 2022 observed widely

Imphal, June 21 2022: 8th International Yoga Day was observed widely across the State today under the theme "Yoga for Humanity" to raise awareness about the multiple benefits of Yoga.

Conducting yoga sessions and sensitization of the masses on the importance of Yoga were the highlights of the observations.

The Department of Tourism, Govt of Manipur in association with the India Tourism Office, Imphal observed the International Yoga Day, 2022 at the Tourist Resort at Loktak Lake today.

T Robindro Singh, MLA of Thanga AC and Th Shanti Singh, MLA of Moirang AC graced the event as the presidium members.

A Yoga session was conducted as a part of the event under the guidance of Pukhrambam Birpradash, Khelo India Yogasana Technical Official.

RIMS
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal observed 8th International Yoga Day at the Jubilee Hall of RIMS today with the enthusiastic participation of students, faculties and staff.

The program was earmarked by Professor Brogen Singh Akoijam, Dean of Academics, RIMS, Professor Th Meera, Sub-Dean, RIMS and Professor AK Joy Singh, HoD PMR Department, RIMS, said a press release by the media advisor of RIMS.

A long practice session with demonstration of asanas to acclimatize the body to Yogic exercises and Yoga was also held, added the release.

BST
Bharat Swabhiman (Trust) and Patanjali Yog Samiti, Imphal West district in association with Mahila Patanjali Yog Samiti, Yuva Bharat and Patanjali Kisan Sewa Samiti, Imphal West district celebrated International Yoga Day, 2022 at Shree Shree Bijoy Govindajee Temple, Sagolband at 6 am today.

Around 300 Yoga teachers, players and practitioners from the different Yoga centres of Patanjali Imphal West district participated in the event.

ICAR
ICAR RC NEH Region Manipur Centre observed the day at its campus at Lamphelpat today.

As a part of the observation, Yoga asanas were performed under the guidance of a professional Yoga instructor from the Directorate of Ayush, Government of Manipur, said a statement by ICAR, Manipur.

143 Bn CRPF
143 Battalion, CRPF observed International Day of Yoga at Unit Headquarters Location at Lamphelpat today.

Lamkhokam Lhoujem Commandant, K Sonny Singh, Second in Commandant, Sandip Sharma D/C, M Santosh Singh, D/C alongwith 500 personnel including CRPF and Civil population residing nearby area took part in the Yoga session under the guidance of Master Yoga Trainer of CRPF, said a press statement by CRPF.

Central Bureau of Communication
A one day integrated communication and outreach programme (ICOP) on International Day of Yoga, 2022 on the theme "Yoga for Humanity" was organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal at its auditorium at Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak in Imphal East district.

The event was presided by B Narayanan, Additional Director General (Region) Imphal.

NAB Manipur
Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Manipur in association with Laipham Khunou Youth Development Association observed the 8th International Day of Yoga at Ima Panthoibi Shanglen, Laipham Khunou.

The Superintendent of Police NAB addressed the participants on the harmful effects of drugs on a person, the families and the society as a whole and appealed to avoid drugs and alcohol and to practice and promote Yoga for a healthy body and mind.

Yogniti Society Manipur
Yogniti Society Manipur in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Imphal, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India organised International Day of Yoga celebration at Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) complex at Dewlahland today.

The celebration was participated by the representatives of around 215 branches of Yogniti Society Manipur.

MTU
The Manipur Technical University (MTU) observed the day with a yoga session by experts followed by a painting competition which was participated by students of engineering and management departments of the university.

All Manipur Gorkha Ex-servicemen (Defence and CAPF) Association too joined in observing International Yoga Day at Kanglatongbi community hall attended by retired Gorkha personnel as well as civilians of Kanglatongbi area.

The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) Imphal, Central Agricultural University Imphal and its constituent colleges and KVKs, the High Court Legal Services Committee in association with High Court of Manipur, High Court Bar Association of Manipur and Manipur State Legal Services Authority and Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Manipur Bivhag also observed the International Yoga Day.
