ZSUM condemns rape, murder

Imphal, April 18 2009: The Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has strongly condemned the barbaric act of alleged rape and strangling to death of baby Gaipuilu Gangmei d/o Martin Gangmei at her residential block, Mahipalpur, Delhi yesterday.

In a press release, the ZSUM took serious note of the insecurity felt by minorities at the national capital in the backdrop of repeated cases of targeting minorities by miscreants.

The student body also urged upon the State Government to take up the matter with the Union Government so that the culprits are booked and punished.

It also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved family.
