Imphal, August 10 2024: The Joint Students' Coordination Com-mittee (JSCC) has urged all schools and colleges to observe Athouba Shinggi Numit (Patriots' Day) on August 13 .

Athouba Shinggi Numit is held every year remembering "our brave forefathers" who fought against the British for freedom.

Every school and college in Manipur should observe the day to instill in every student a strong sense of nationalism and enthusiasm to trace the footsteps of "our forefathers", it said in a statement.

The JSCC also urged the Education Department to take up steps to observe Athouba Shinggi Numit in all schools and colleges with various events like poetry reading, singing etc.
