Devshree does Manipur proud in cracking IFS exam

In yet another instance of Manipuris excelling in top competitive exams, State lass Devshree Haobijam has successfully cleared the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2023 and secured the 138th rank.
The final result of the IFSE 2023 was declared by the Union Public Service Commission yesterday.
Hailing from Phubala Awang Mamang Leikai under Moirang Assembly Constituency, Devshree is the third child out of four born to Haobijam Birbal and Haobijam ongbi Ibetombi Devi.
Notably, her father is an ex-serviceman and currently serving as Executive Director at Bir Tikendrajit University while her mother is a homemaker.
Devshree received her education from Kendriya Vidyalaya Loktak and completed BTech from NIT Manipur in 2018 .

After working at a private firm for a couple of years, she began preparing for the UPSC Examination in 2020 .
Subsequently, on her second attempt at the IFS Examination, she secured the 138th rank out of 147 successful candidates.
In a telephonic interview with The Sangai Express, Devshree expressed joy upon qualifying the IFS Exam while stating that she had higher expectations with regard to her result.
She went on to share that she began attempting the civil services exam with the goal of joining the Indian Administrative Service in mind.
However, the Indian Forest Service is also one of her top preferences, hence she tried her hand at the IFS Exam, she said.
Stating that the UPSC exam cannot be tackled by an aspirants' hard work alone, she gave credit for her success to the moral support and motivation from her parents and other family members.
In stark contrast to current trends, Devshree revealed that she did not attend any coaching classes in her preparation for the IFS Exam.
However, for the interview stage, she received guidance from some resource persons, she added.
Devshree attributed her inspiration to crack the civil services examination to her grandfather who was reportedly involved in various social service work including the creation of many social institutions.
When she did not get the desired result in her previous attempt, Devshree was plagued with negative thoughts.
However, her continued determination and grit in the face of failure has now led her to success, she maintained.Thus, in a message to the youth, she stressed on the importance of having a "dream" .
With a dream or set goal in mind, the youth should work consistently towards their target while judiciously identifying their mistakes and correcting them and surely they will achieve success, said Devshree.
