Imphal, January 03: In a firing attack by some unidentified persons, a 15 year old boy was killed while his father sustained injuries.

The incident took place in a house located at Sekmaijin Khunou Konuma under Kakching police station at about 9.30 last night.

According to information received by the press, around 5/6 armed persons came to the residence of Md Manirudin (65) at about 9.30 pm yesterday.

As some of the armed persons stood guard outside, some of them entered into the house.

Shortly after, they opened fire indiscriminately using automatic rifles and bombs.

Even as the neighbouring people heard the gun shots, they could not go into the house in fear.

After about half an hour since the firing ceased, the neighbours rushed into the house where they found Md Tomba (15) s/o Md Manirudin shot dead in front of a bed.

The father was also found hit by a bullet in his right calf just beside his dead son.

It is reported that the armed assailants went away in a van.

Md Manirudin is currently undergoing treatment in Raj Polyclinic at North AOC.

He is said to be a cultivator.

Md Tomba was found hit by a bullet in the right side of chest and another on the left side of abdomen.

He was primarily engaged in fishing.

Subsequent upon the firing, a number of holes were observed in the walls, windows and doors of the house.

An auto-rickshaw kept in the neighbouring house was also damaged in the firing.

Md Manirudin's second son Firozudin (13) also suffered from nervous breakdown due to extreme fright because of the indiscriminate firing.
