AMMUCO moots stir

The All Manipur Muslim United Clubs' Organisation (AMMUCO) has threatened to launch different modes of intense agitation if their 10-point memorandum submitted to the State Government on August 17 this year is not translated into action by December 5 .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, AMMUCO general secretary Md Abdul Quayum said that the memorandum submitted on August 17 was re-submitted to the Chief Minister on November 22 .
The 10 points listed in the memorandum are; introduction of reservation for minority Muslims, construction of a market within Imphal city exclusively for Muslims, construction of Mushafir Khana at the earliest, upgradation of Lilong Haoreibi College to Post Graduate level, giving a place of Meitei Pangals in Manipur University of Culture, telecasting/broadcasting of religious programmes of Meitei Pangals through DDK and AIR, construction of monument for Muslim women who took part in the Nupi Lan, extension of benefits of the Prime Minister's 15 Point Programme to Muslims, full operationalisation of Wakf Board and preservation of the Kabarstan located within Kangla.
