Publication company tenders apology, KSA bans

Ramesh Publishing House has tendered unconditional apology to the people of the State for publishing many factual errors on R Gupta's Manipur General Knowledge.
In a statement, the publishing house said that they have started calling back all the copies of this General Knowledge book (book code R-822) .
In a few months of time, the publishing house would present a totally updated, corrected and revised edition of the book.
It also invited suggestions on the email: [email protected].
It may be mentioned that Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) had imposed a one-month ban on M/s PC Jain and Jain Book Shop, Thangal bazar for selling this GK book despite their insistence to stop selling of the book.
In a statement, KSA said that it is published on the book that dancing by Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga with several other Gods and Godesses is known as Lai Haraoba.
It is also written in the book that Rishang Keishing is a freedom fighter of Manipur.
The book also says that in Manipuri society, dying persons are kept at the veradah of their house, KSA said.
The students' body further said that the book also contains many other factual errors.
As such, writer of the book, R Gupta and the representative of Ramesh Publishing House must come to KSA office within June 30 .
All the books written by R Gupta and published by Ramesh Publishing House would be banned in the State if they fail to turn up by June 30 .
