Imphal, October 23 2024: The general body meeting of All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM), Konthoujam area committee was held today at Kamong Maisnam Leikai Peace cottage.

The general body meeting was attended by Maisnam Sakhi Devi, president, (AMNM), K Ahanbi, president, (AMNM), Konthoujam area committee and Kh Ibeyaima Devi, Khabi Sakha Committee, Nupi Marup as presidium member, said AMNM in a statement.

At the event, M Sundari Devi, secretary of AMNM, Konthoujam area committee presented a full report on the participation of AMNM members in protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur.

Further, AMNM urged the Central Government to release a special economic package for Manipur and also demanded the Government to take up necessary steps to implement the Women's Reservation Act before the 2027 general election.

The meeting also demanded the State Government to hold the election of Municipality, Panchayat and ADC.

The office bearers for next year area committee council body and executive members were also elected at the event, it said.
