Goodwill mission meets CM

A team of the Goodwill Mission for Peaceful Co-existence (GMPC) met Chief Minister O Ibobi this afternoon.
According to GMPC convenor Ningthouja Lancha, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Ministers and MLAs were also present at the meeting.
The GMPC team highlighted the suggestions and opinions made by different speakers at the all community meeting held yesterday at Khwairamband Keithel.
They also sought immediate resolution of the blockade issue.
Pointing out that the misery of people caused by demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes has been compounded by curfew imposed in Imphal East district, the team urged the Government to lift curfew.
According to Ningthouja Lancha, the Government responded positively to their appeal.
The GMPC team also urged the Chief Minister to convene a joint meeting of the two groups of people of Lilong Nungei who confronted against each other recently so as to resolve the conflict for good.
They further suggested constitution of a fact finding team to investigate the major issues plaguing the State at present.
GMPC would meet all stake holders including the UNC, Lancha said.
Meanwhile, GMPC held a joint meeting with local clubs and Meira Paibis of Moirangkampu area today.
On the other hand, a meeting of the Yaingangpokpi Area Ching-Tam Peace Committee was held today Yaingangpokpi Bazar today, and the meeting resolved to ensure peaceful co-existence among all communities of the area.
