Free health camp conducted

In an ongoing effort to promote a healthier community in Sagolband, aFree Health Camp was organised for the third time this year by the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Sagolband, at Thangjam Leirak Community Hall, premises of Semgat Sagatpa Apunba Naharol, under the supervision of local MLA RK Imo Singh.
The special outreach initiative, conducted under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), provided essential health services to over 110 individuals, said a release issued by the Office of the MLA Sagolband AC.
The services offered at the camp included free OPD consultation, ABHA ID creation, eye check-up, immunization, laboratory testing and screening for Diabetes, Hypertension, Oral, Breast and Cervical Cancer.
Free medicines were also distributed to the people.
In connection with the camp, RK RK Imo Singh said that this series of health camps, which were also organised last year, will continue in a phased manner, extending the initiative to other wards across Sagolband.
"The aim is to ensure that essential healthcare services reach all residents of the constituency", he added.
Sapam Dhanachandra, secretary of Semgat Sagatpa Apunba Naharol, appreciated this initiative by the MLA, acknowledging his dedication to the well-being of the community.
He also emphasized the importance of providing essential health services to those who cannot afford to visit hospitals or clinics, and praised the effort in helping people stay healthy.
