All Manipur Mid-day Meal Workers' Union has warned that the union would launch different types of agitation if their due remuneration of nine months is not cleared by the Government at the earliest.
The general secretary of the union, H Tikendra Sharma in a press conference held today at its Paona Bazar office said that the workers are facing lots of inconvenience as the Government has not paid the remuneration since December 2008.Tikendra also informed the media that the workers are facing hardships as their remunerations are paid through the accounts of school Headmasters instead of school management committee.
The other demands of the union include, increment to remuneration, clearance of remunerations regularly, inclusion of mid-day meal workers in school upgradation process.
The union also urged not to deduct shares for AIS, DIS and Headmaster from the remunerations of the workers.
The union also demanded to clear the due remunerations for cooks of 15 schools of Bishnupur district.
