Imphal, June 04 2021: Langthabal Assembly Constituency MLA Karam Shyam has donated one Maruti EECO Van for conveying Covid patients to representatives of Community Health Isolation Centre (CHIC), being opened at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School.

After handing over the vehicle, the MLA apprised the people of the Constituency to avail the benefit of the vehicle by dialling 7005701651 at the time of emergency.

According to K Shyam, altogether 23 patients are currently lodged at the CHIC in Canchipur which was opened on May 9 .

Arranging meals for the inmates and cleaning of the CHIC campus are being done by 9 volunteers.

Saying that at least 23 people of the AC have succumbed to COVID-19 while 286 have been infected by the novel virus so far, he appealed to all to observe Covid appropriate behaviour to avoid infections and get vaccinated without hesitation.

The MLA maintained that he had extended relief packages to over 415 households in the Constituency.

As people are susceptible to the COVID-19, it is important for the people to go for Covid testing when symptoms show up, he added.
