SWM completed for Imphal city: PDA

Imphal, April 19 2018:
Solid Waste management for Imphal City was completed in the year 2014.This was stated by Executive Engineer, Division-II of PDA Prasanta Wahengbam during the series of press conference organised by Directorate of Information and Public Relations at Moirangkhom office complex today.
Under the Centrally sponsored scheme and NEC funding, PDA under Division-I has executed projects such as upgradation and construction of urban slum, roads, women vendor sheds, infrastructure development of JNIMS, renovation of Indira Park and construction of infrastructure for shifting of AR from Langthabal Old Palace , Canchipur at the total project cost of Rs 15,264.53 lakh.
Out of these, Rs 9,680.77 lakh have been already released and Rs 9,229.10 lakh have been utilised.
The Division - II of the Department has executed developmental projects of district Courts in Senapati, Chandel Moreh and Tamenglong districts; renovated the old auditorium and constructed eight classrooms of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy.
Construction of 50 bedded hospital in Jiribam and the solid waste management for Imphal city has been completed.
The total cost of the projects under Division II is Rs 13,176.03 lakh.
Out of these, Rs 8,808.90 lakh have been already released and Rs 8,787.21 lakh have been utilised.
The Division-III has also upgraded roads and drains within Wangjing Lamding NP, constructed market at Singjamei, trauma care centre at Churachandpur district Hospital, multipurpose indoor stadium at Thoubal district and Parks and Green spaces of AMRUT, BT Park is currently being developed.
The department has also completed development of open spaces at the western side of Govindajee Temple.
The total amount of the project was Rs 4,527.70 lakh.
Out of these, Rs 1,890.25 lakh have been already released whereas Rs 1,419.54 lakh have been utilised as on March 23 this year.
The department was established in the year 1975 under the Manipur Town and Country Act, 1975 and the department is divided into three divisions.
PDA also executes and implements developmental schemes of MAHUD Department and other Government departments as deposit works, Prasanta said.
The press conference was also attended by Executive Engineers of divisions I & HI namely K Gambhini Devi (Division - I), TL Muan (Division-Ill) as well as Yumnam Joykumar, Assistant Survey and Settlement Officer of th department.
