Youth Parliament, Y20 Talk & Career Guidance Workshop held

Chandel/Thoubal, March 06 2023: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Chandel in collaboration with KBC Centre Church Molnoi Area and Molnoi Area Youth Union (MAYU) organised a Neighbourhood Youth Parliament and Career Guidance Workshop at KBC Centre Church Molnoi Area on the G20 theme of "One Earth, One Life, One Future" .

The morning session of Neighbourhood Youth Parliament was attended by C Lhunthang Mate, custom & culture secretary Kuki Inpi Manipur; Pastor Seikhogin Haokip, chairman KBCCC Molnoi Area and Michael Thangminlien Mate, DYO NYK Chandel as presidium members.

After a welcome address by Mercy Haokip, president MAYU, the dignitaries, NYK Chandel volunteers and MAYU executives delivered lectures on the themes of Y20 Summit- Future of Work, Climate Change & Disaster, Peacebuilding, Youth in Democracy and Health, wellbeing & Sports.

The afternoon session of Career Guidance was attended by Lhingneilam Haokip, Sunday School Superintendent KBCCC Molnoi Area; Paokhosei Haokip, secretary KBCCC Molnoi Area and Letkholal Mate, treasurer KBCCC Molnoi Area as presidium members.

Resource persons, Michael Mate, chief founder of Accelerate Coaching Institute spoke on various job opportunities available in Government and private sectors while Seijalal Haokip, headmaster New Vajang Government School elaborated on teaching as a profession and how to study effectively.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Seitinthang Haokip, National Youth Volunteer, NYK Chandel and short prayer by Pastor Seikhogin Haokip.

Similarly, NYK Thoubal in collaboration with DDU-GKY Thoubal and Eastern Star Higher Secondary School jointly organised a Career Guidance Workshop at the school premises in Khangabok Mayai Leikai.

It was attended by Michael Thangminlien Mate; Kh Mangijao Singh, principal Easter Star HSS; K Lokendro Singh, DACYP NYK Thoubal and Md Najir Ahmad, vice-principal Easter Star HSS as presidium members.

Ng Loyanganba Meitei, District Coordinator (Skills)- MSRLM (DDU-GKY) Thoubal; Ningthoujam Solomon and Kamei Donney from JCRE Skill Solutions Manipur took part in the workshop as resource persons.

Saikhom Buddhachandra, Superintendent Eastern Star HSS delivered the welcome address while K Lokendro Singh gave the keynote address.

Michael Mate spoke on Catch The Rain project of NYKS, importance of water conservation & rainwater harvesting and led the gathering in a water pledge.

It may be mentioned that NYK Thoubal also organised an awareness programme at LM High School, Athokpam Awang Leikai on March 4 .

Moreover, Thoubal College Thoubal under the aegis of Directorate of University & Higher Education, Government of Manipur, today organised a Y20 Talk awareness programme on the theme, "Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation and 21st Century Skills" at the College's Multipurpose Hall.

It was attended by Thoubal College principal, M Bina Devi; Thoubal College Teachers' Association president, S Iboyaima Singh and Thoubal College Students Union vice president, Dr Kh Jugindro Singh as presidium members.

As part of the event, Lambamayum Benjamin of HDFC Bank Thoubal Branch spoke on "Mudra Initiative" while MD, Network Master, Longjam Manju Singh spoke on "India's Digital Revolution" and Thoubal College, associate professor Dr Kh Jugindro on "India's National Education Policy" .
