Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrated across State

Bpr/Ccp/Kpi/Phz/Tpl/Thb/Ukl, October 31 2022: As observed across the country, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated in the State to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, "The Iron Man of India".

Rastriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) is observed with an aim to foster and reinforce the dedication of the people to preserve & strengthen unity, integrity and security of the nation by re-enforcing the value of a strong and united India.

BISHNUPUR
In line with the observation of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram today led the gathering at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat complex in paying floral tributes to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The DC also administered Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to the participants composed of DLOs and staff of District Administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Lourembam Bikram highlighted the significance of observing the Day and stated that the spirit of nationalism is applicable not just for war times but also in day-to-day life.

He continued that "Indian First" must dominate over the petty ethnic prejudices in order to foster a strong State or Nation.

As part of the observance, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Bishnupur in collaboration with CEO, Zilla Parishad and BDO/Eos of Municipal Councils also organised 40 Unity Runs in different villages of the district.

The ZEO also organised 60 Unity Runs in schools.

Principals of different colleges also organised Unity Run to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

CHURACHANDPUR
District Administration Churachandpur also observed Rastriya Ekta Diwas at Mini-Secretariat Campus, Churachandpur today.

Several Unity Runs from different Colleges and Schools of Churachandpur, taking of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge and formation of human chain to show & maintain the spirit of "Unity in Diversity" marked the observation.

As part of the programme, Sharath Chandra Arroju, Deputy Commissioner, DLOs, students and other participants paid floral tribute to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Mini-Secretariat premises today.

KANGPOKPI
District Administration Kangpokpi also celebrated National Unity Day by paying floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at DC Office Complex.

DC Kangpokpi Kengoo Zuringla led the officers and staff in paying the tributes.

Similar celebrations were also held at the Government offices and schools located within the district.

Moreover, the Transport Department also organised a "Run for Unity" to celebrate National Unity Day.

PHERZAWL
As part of the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, a Unity Run was conducted in schools under ZEO Pherzawl.

On the occasion, ZEO Pherzawl District, Hemchand Yumnam informed that a total of 850 persons and about 16 Schools of the district participated in the Unity Run.

TENGNOUPAL
District administration Tengnoupal today observed Rastriya Ekta Diwas at District Headquarter, Machi and Moreh Sub-division.

As part of the event, DC Tengnoupal, Ranjan Yumnam led in paying floral tribute to a photograph of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The gathering which included DLOs, staff and students also formed a human chain and took the Unity pledge at the DC Office complex.

Ranjan Yumnam also flagged off a Unity Run from the District Headquarter.

Similar Unity Run was also organised in Machi and Moreh Sub-divisions.

THOUBAL
Unity Run was also organised in Thoubal district today to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

DC Thoubal, A Subhash Singh; SP Thoubal, Jogeshchandra Haobijam; Manipur Police personnel, staff of different departments, NYK Thoubal volunteers and students of various colleges participated in the Unity Run.

Human chain was also formed as part of the observation.

Earlier, floral tributes were paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel led by A Subhash Singh at DC office Complex Thoubal.

UKHRUL
As part of the observance of National Unity Day, District Administration Ukhrul today organised a Unity Run from the DC Office complex to Ukhrul Higher Secondary School.

The Unity Run participated by DLOs, staff, students of Model High school and Ukhrul Higher Secondary School was flagged off by DC Ukhrul, Krishna Kumar.

Krishna Kumar also led the participants in paying floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and taking the Unity pledge.

The event was held in collaboration with the District Youth Affairs & Sports Office (DYASO) and Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Ukhrul.

ASSAM RIFLES
HQ IGAR (South) today celebrated National Unity Day by conducting a Bike Rally, Run and Unity Pledge for the troops, children and families of Assam Rifles at Mantripukhri Garrison.

A release issued by PRO of IGAR(S) informed that the events were conducted in the presence of Lt Gen PC Nair, AVSM, YSM Director General Assam Rifles and Maj Gen Rajan Sharawat, VSM, Inspector General HQ IGAR (South).

10 Sector Assam Rifles and under Command Units also celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas by organising Unity Run, Bike rally & Oath taking ceremony at Somsai, Shangshak and Chassad Battalions.

28 Sector Assam Rifles and under Command Units also observed National Unity Day by conducting Unity Run, Bike rally, Medical camp & Oath taking ceremony at Kakching, Sajik Tampak, Joupi, Phunderi and Sehlon.

Similar celebrations were also organised by Khuga Battalion and Churachandpur Battalion in Churachandpur district.

Moreover, Maram Battalion under the aegis of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles also celebrated National Unity Day at its Battalion Headquarter Maram and across its Company locations in Senapati district.
