Outreach program for tax payers held in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, May 27 2022: An outreach program for tax payers was held as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav and North East Region Converses in Tamenglong at Badminton Court, DC Bungalow yesterday afternoon on the topic of importance of paying taxes and ease of tax compliance.

GG Kamei, Commissioner of Income Tax North Eastern Region, Hungyo Worshang, Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong, Laishram Ramcharan Singh, Income Tax Officer Ward � 1, Imphal, Ng Joseph Gangte, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Range, Imphal, ITO (TDS), Haobijam Joyo Singh, Imphal and Income Tax Officer Laishram Ramcharan Singh graced the outreach programme.

Indian footballer Potsangbam Renedy Singh also attended as a special guest in the outreach programme wherein he was felicitated by the Income Tax Department.

Outreach program for tax payers held in Tamenglong

During the programme, the Income Tax Department also felicitated outstanding personalities from Tamenglong district including Akeina Gonmei, social activist, Dr Alana Golmei, social activist, Aram Pamei, social worker and human rights activist, Dr Chambo Gonmei, Gr II Medical Officer, Manipur Health Service, Kachangthai Gonmei, film-maker and actor, Dr Lungphak T Panmei, musical artist, retired Major Gaigonglung Kamei, Obed Zeme, musical artist, Rev Gaikhuanlung Gangmei, Bible translator, DM Nganthuanang, former president, Zeliangrong Union.

Ng Joseph Gangte, Haobijam Joyo Singh, and Laishram Ramcharan Singh also addressed the gathering as resource persons.

In her introductory address, GG Kamei said that all the development that has taken place in Tamenglong is due to taxpayers' money.

She urged all to contribute to nation building.

She further informed that income tax filings are available on the website of the Income Tax Dept.

She also urged all the students to log on to the income tax website and learn what can be benefited from it.
