Slain KNA (L) cadres identified

The identity of the four KNA (Lunngam group) cadres, who were killed in an encounter with AR troops at Phaikok on Saturday have been established.
The slain cadres were SS C-in-C of the faction, Lunngam Haokip (42) s/o (L) Mangkholun of Lancha village under Kamjong subdivision of Ukhrul district; Mangtinlen Haokip (23) s/o Totong of Molvailup village, Ukhrul district; Yamkhojang Haokip (32) s/o Mamang of Salbung village, Churachandpur and Thangboi Mate (28) s/o Zangthang of H Mongjang in Chandel district.
The corpses were handed over to their respective family after conducting post mortem examination at RIMS today.
Two AK rifles, one M-16 rifle, one Motorola Radio set and 200 live rounds of ammunition were reportedly recovered from the four slain cadres.
Meanwhile, the bullet riddled body found from a place near S Pheiza under Yairipok Police Station was said to be a former member of the underground KCP.
He was identified as Khumanthem Sunil alias Nanao (29) s/o (L) Shamu of Awang Khunou Lamkhai of Imphal West district.
He was said to be a former member of KCP outfit.
He is the second driver of an Imphal-Ukhrul bus after retiring from the outfit.
He is survived by wife and a six-year old son.
The dead body was handed over to family after conducting post mortem examination at JNIMS today.
