526 more test positive to take daily positivity rate to 12.6 pc
Manipur records lowest death count since May 7 with 4

Imphal, August 19 2021:
After a lull of three days, Manipur has returned to the days when it reported over 500 new cases every day with August 18 returning figures of 526 new cases, the report of which was received on August 19 .
With 526 returning positive results out of a total of 4165 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the daily positivity rate is 12.6 percent, up from the 10 pc reported on August 18 and 9.29 percent on
August 17 .
Daily death count continues to be in the single digit, with the State reporting 4 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
This is the lowest death count in a day since May 7 when the number of deaths was recorded at 2 .
The deceased persons were from Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
With the addition of four more, the cumulative figure of deaths due to the virus now stands at 1732 and out of the four deceased persons, 3 persons had co-morbidities and one had received the first dose of the vaccine.
The 526 persons who tested positive for the virus include 4 Central security personnel and they were tested positive at RIMS (11), JNIMS (86), District Hospitals (298) and other testing centres (131).The 522 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (97), Imphal West (178), Thoubal (42), Bishnupur (23), Kakching (32), Ukhrul (59), Churachandpur (39), Chandel (7), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (4), Noney (3), Kamjong (28) and Kangpokpi (6) .
With 526 more persons testing positive in the last 24 hours, the total number of infected people in Manipur has gone up to 1,09,843 including 4,085 Central security personnel.
All precautionary measures such as containment and contact tracing are in place, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
The number of active cases is 5,508 including 52 Central security personnel.
On the other hand the number of people discharged in the last 24 hours is 520.They were discharged from home isolation (218), RIMS (12), JNIMS (12), CCCs (129) and CHICs (149) .
The total number of recovered cases now stands at 1,02,603 inclusive of 4028 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is 93.40 percent.
On August 18, a total of 4790 took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 14,62,972 .
This includes 2,90,063 people who have received the second dose.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1481 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 371 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
The number of beds as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is RIMS (General beds-103, ICU-17), JNIMS (General beds-23, ICU-4), Iland Hospital, free of cost (General beds-25), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (General beds-1, ICU-10), CMC Koirengei (General beds-27, ICU-5), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-19), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-17, ICU-4), Shija Hospital (General beds-21, ICU- 16), Raj Medicity (General beds-59, ICU-15) .
