New cases return to 700 plus daily count, positivity rate hits high of 9.72 pc

Imphal, June 15 2021:
In a marked increase from the 459 cases reported on June 14, the COVID-19 Common Control Room today reported 785 new positive cases, including 13 Central security personnel.
The 772 civilians include 408 men and 364 women.
If the new cases saw a huge hike, the number of deaths saw a 50 percent decline with Manipur recording 8 deaths down from the 16 reported on June 14 .
The 785 new cases were detected from out of 8074 samples tested in the last 24 hours, taking the positivity rate to 9.72 percentage.
With 785 more testing positive, the cumulative figure of positive cases has gone up to 61,096 including 3,790 Central security personnel.
The 785 positive cases were detected at RIMS (32), JNIMS (13), District Hospitals (500) and other testing centres (240) .
The 772 positive cases from amongst the general population were drawn from Imphal East (114), Imphal West (309), Thoubal (62), Bishnupur (62), Kakching (52), Ukhrul (20), Churachandpur (65), Chandel (14), Senapati (11), Tamenglong (22), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (2), Jiribam (34) and Noney (4) .

This is the first time since June 9 that the daily death count is in single digit.
On June 9, Manipur reported 7 deaths while today, that is June 15, the death count stands at 8 .
The deaths were reported from Imphal West (4), Imphal East (1), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Chandel (1) .
They passed away at RIMS (2), JNIMS (3), Raj Medicity (1), District Hospital (1) and PHC Kangpokpi (1) .
The cumulative number of deaths has climbed up to 998, two short of the four figure mark of 1000 .
Altogether 476 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours out of which 309 were from home isolation, 20 from RIMS, 10 from JNIMS, and 137 from other Covid Care Centres.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 51,354 (general population-47,593) and Central security personnel-3761) .
The recovery rate is 84.05 percent.
The number of active cases is 8744 (general population-8720 and Central security personnel-24) .
The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 61,096 (general population-57,306 and Central security personnel-3,790) .
In the last 24 hours, 1621 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 441 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the State.
The total number of persons vaccinated stands at 4,72,857 .
The report did not mention how many out of the total have received their second jab.
