Active cases decline to 477 ; Manipur to receive vaccine on Jan 13

Imphal, January 11 2021:
Manipur will receive her first share of the vaccine-Covishield-on January 13, said a highly placed source adding that an intimation in this regard has already been received from the Centre.
Covishield vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII) will be priced at Rs 200 a vial after a price agreement was arrived at with the Government, sources have said.
On the other hand, the total number of COVID-19 active cases has declined to 477 and it includes 451 civilians and 26 Central security personnel.
With 27,851 (general population 24,485 and Central security personnel 3,366) already recovered so far out of 28,693 (general population 25,297 and Central security personnel 3,396) infected by the virus, the recovery rate stands at 97.06 per cent.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 33 people including seven personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours.
The new positive cases were detected at RIMS, JNIMS, Maipakpi Hospital, Raj Medicity, Babina Diagnostics, Kakching and Tamenglong.
The 26 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (6), Imphal East (7), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (4), Ukhrul (1) and Tamenglong (6) .
In the meantime, 46 COVID-19 positive people were discharged from CAPF (2), home isolation (32), RIMS (6), Bishnupur (5) and Tamenglong (1) .
The death toll stands at 365 as there was no report of COVID-19 related death during the last 24 hours.
