Covid: State adds 185 new cases, 4 deaths

Imphal, September 06 2021:
Although the State recorded 9.3 percent test positivity rate (TPR) in the past twenty four hours, 6 districts including four hill districts recorded double digit rate during the same period with Chandel registering the highest of 20.5 pc.
Other districts recording double digit test positivity rate are Kamjong (20 pc), Noney (17.2 pc), Kakching (16.4 pc) Ukhrul (15.4) and Imphal West (11.5) .
The number of samples tested in these districts except Imphal West (592) were however all below 100 .
As per a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, the State added 185 new Covid positive cases, all from the general population and witnessed 4 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The positive persons, 100 females and 85 males are residents of Imphal East (35), Imphal West (68), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (10), Kakching (12), Ukhrul (14), Churachandpur (7), Chandel (8), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (8), Noney (10), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (2) .
With the addition of the 185 new cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State now stands at 1,15,584 including 4,135 Central security personnel, it said.
The State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 4 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative figure to 1802, the release said while adding that the deaths were reported from Imphal West (1), Imphal East (2) and Bishnupur (1) .
Of the four deceased persons, 3 persons had co-morbidities and 2 of them had 1st doses of Covid vaccine while one was fully vaccinated.
In the meantime, 261 persons who were in home isolation (109) and treated at JNIMS (8), RIMS (11), CCCs (76) and CHICs (57) were discharged.
With the number of people discharged in the said period, the cumulative number of people recovered now stands at 1,10,602 (1,06,501 from the general population and 4,101 from Central security personnel), it said.
The recovery rate is 95.69 percent, it added.
The release further noted that a total of 1231 D-type and 284 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
It also maintained that 1318 doses of Covid vaccine were administered on September 5 .
With it, the cumulative number of doses administered in the State is 1561759 (1st dose : 1194192 and 2nd dose : 367567), it said.
