State reports 167 Covid cases, 2 deaths in last 24 hrs

Imphal, October 03 2021: The State reported 167 fresh Covid cases and 2 deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the active cases to 2,262 and the death toll to 1862 .

As 2,249 samples were tested in the said period, the daily positivity rate reported was 7.4 percent against 5.4 percent on Saturday.

District wise, Kamjong (33 percent), Ukhrul (14 percent) and Imphal West (12.9 percent) reported the highest test positivity rate in the past 24 hours, according to a statement of the COVID-19 Common Control Room.

The new cases confirmed at RIMS (7), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (150) are from Imphal East (27), Imphal West (98), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (13), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (2), Senapati (2), Kamjong (2) and Kangpokpi (2) .

The 2 Covid deaths, on the other hand, are both from Imphal East (2) and they were not vaccinated against COVID-19 .

As per the Government bulletin, altogether 119 persons were discharged after recoveries from Home Isolation (48), RIMS (2), JNIMS (11), CCCs (54) and CHICs (4), increasing the recovered cases to 1,16,922 .

The recovery rate, however, has been reduced to 96.59 percent against 96.63 updated on Saturday.

In the last 24 hours, 858 D-type and 271 B-type oxygen cylinders were distributed to different healthcare facilities in Manipur while 4270 Covid vaccine doses were administered on Saturday, as per the bulletin.

So far, the State has administered 1718830 Covid vaccine doses.

As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 198; ICU/HDU beds 23), JNIMS (general beds 50; ICU/HDU beds 11), CMC Koirengei (general beds 30; ICU/HDU beds 08), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 60; ICU/HDU beds 39) and Raj Medicity (general beds 72; ICU/HDU beds 23) .
