Death toll surges by 5, positive cases by 210

Imphal, September 24 2021:
Five individuals including one who had been administered first dose of Covid vaccine, another one who had been administered both the doses and three others who had co-morbidities succumbed to the pandemic during the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 1843 .
TPR or daily positivity rate has also been rising steadily.
It was 4.8 per cent on September 22, 5.7 per cent on September 23 and it further climbed to 6.8 per cent today.
The latest Covid victims hailed from Imphal West, Imphal East, Senapati, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi, informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
On the other hand, 210 persons including one CAPF personnel were confirmed positive out of 3,101 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours.
The positive cases were detected at RIMS (8), JNIMS (25) and other testing centres (177), and the 209 civilians are residents of Imphal East (43), Imphal West (105), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (10), Ukhrul (11), Churachandpur (4), Chandel (6), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (2), Kamjong (6) and Kangpokpi (6) .
On Friday, Chandel recorded the highest positivity rate at 15.4 per cent, followed by Kamjong (12.8 pc), Imphal East (9.8 pc) and Kakching 9.3 per cent.
Following recovery, 179 COVID-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (37), RIMS (9), JNIMS (9), CCCs (95) and CHICs (29) .
Due to various reasons, 267 persons are reported as discharged cases only today.
Therefore the number of recovered cases is considered as 446 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, Home Isolation team, Community Home Isolation and Hospitalisation Team as on September 24 .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,19,445 (general population 1,15,176 and Central security personnel 4,269) .
It includes 2,029 active cases (general population 1,967 and Central security personnel 62) and 1,15,573 recovered cases (general population 1,11,371 and Central security personnel 4,202) .
The recovery rate is 96.76 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1069 D-type oxygen cylinders and 373 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
Taking into account 5620 people vaccinated on September 23, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 16,51,313 (1st dose 12,17,378 and 2nd dose 4,33,935) .
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 187; ICU/HDU beds 22), JNIMS (general beds 51; ICU/HDU beds 2), CMC (general beds 30; ICU/HDU beds 6), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 50; ICU/HDU beds 37) and Raj Medicity (general beds 75; ICU/HDU beds 25) .
